Another
member of Fergie's Fledglings, Nicky Butt was brought into the side to
fill the gap left by Paul Ince's move to Inter Milan. Nicky is now in the
England Squad and is in Glenn Hoddles plans for the World Cup in France
1998. He was a member of United's 1992 FA Youth Cup-winning side.
Butt was one of the few successes of United's 1994-95 Champions League
campaign, gaining valuable experience against Barcelona and Gothenburg,
where he made his full debut. His outstanding performances for United in
Europe ensured that he received a call-up to the England under-21 side
on the back of that performance. A consistent performer in last season,
playing along side Roy Keane in the heart of United's midfield.
